So I know that I haven't posted much lately and that I am late for the music monday this week but I thought I would talk about Miley Cyrus's music video for Wreaking Ball. The Directors cut was released today and I will have to say that I love it a lot more than the original. The reason is that I feel more of a connection to what Miley was trying to portray through the song. Don't get me wrong, the original has some interesting aspects to it, but I think that she tried to be too sexy for the type of song that it is. Something that is just simple and raw has more of an impact than showing our body naked on an actual wreaking ball.
I will have to say that my girl Miley has really inspired me in more than just one way with her new single this month "We Can't Stop." I have not only seen some fashion/beauty inspiration that I channeled from her music video, it just made me think deeper about myself and to do want I want to do, no matter what others think as long as it makes me happy.
Fashion and Beauty wise, what has inspired me fromt the music video is the red lip mixed with a monochrome outfit, mesh, and stacked rings.
MOVIES:
Given that a lot of movies came out this month, I will have to say that not many of them were that great or did well. A movie that I particularly liked was "The Bling Ring." I was very interested in the whole Celebrity Mentality and how everyone wanted to be apart of the Celebrity lifestyle and be in these celebrities life. I think when the actual robing happened, I was not very interested in the news so I didn't remember the whole case. But the way the story was told, made me understand why the characters might of robbed the celebrities homes, not really to take their stuff for the money, but to become apart of these celebrities lives, in what ever way possible. If you have not seen this movie yet, I would recommend you go out and see it.

FASHION:
A few fashion trends/looks that I have been loving this month is Monochrome, mixing black and white. I have also been loving to layer, even if it is summer. I have love been wearing vests with my outfits. In addition to the Monochrome look, I have also been starting to like the sports lux trend, which I hoping to start incorporating more into my outfits I already own
Miley Cyrus's recent fashion looks have been something I have been loving. She has been rocking the monochromatic punk looks as well as channeling a hip/hop grungy vibe. Miley has joined the beanie club and we welcome her with open arms (as being a person who could wear a beanie every day of the week). Beanies are a great accessorie if you are having a bad hear day or just want to emit a laid back feel. In addition to Miley wearing beanies, she has being accessorizing with gold jewelry, on her fingers and around her neck. She has even been rocking some gold nails that I would like to do a tutorial on possibly.In regards to the rings, the picture that I posted reminds me of hardware, which has been something that I want to try out this summer. So I have provided a link below to what I mean by using hardware as jewelry. Lastly, to rock your inner Miley, cropped tops are a must. These can be found almost every, such as American Apparel, Nasty Gal, and Topshop.
I know that this song won't be everyone's cup of tea. However I am a fan of Miley Cyrus as some of you know, and I will support something that I like. The song is catchy and if you actually listen to the lyrics, they are kind of scandalous ..which means I LOVE IT. The party she describes is my kind of party I will have to say.
So I would have posted this the day it came out, however, I already had one for that day, so I having this song wait in line. I love Miley Cyrus and her music and voice have not always been their best, but I think her voice has definitely gotten stronger and it shows in the song Jolene, originally a Dolly Parton song.
So for the week I have really been inspired to wear denim shorts with loose tops, bustiers, experimenting with levels, and incorporating color back into my life.
update: I was not able to find a swimsuit patter, so I guess I am going to have to make my own.
