So I know that I haven't posted much lately and that I am late for the music monday this week but I thought I would talk about Miley Cyrus's music video for Wreaking Ball. The Directors cut was released today and I will have to say that I love it a lot more than the original. The reason is that I feel more of a connection to what Miley was trying to portray through the song. Don't get me wrong, the original has some interesting aspects to it, but I think that she tried to be too sexy for the type of song that it is. Something that is just simple and raw has more of an impact than showing our body naked on an actual wreaking ball.

Music Monday__Waist of Time

This song was recommended to me a few times on youtube and I had just ignored it before. But then I thought, why not expand my music knowledge and I am glad I did. Not only is the song great, but the music video fits it too.

Music Monday__Applause by Lady Gaga

I will have to say that I use to be a huge fan of Lady Gaga. However, the last album she had release was not my favorite and I had lost interest in her. With the new song, I am excited for her again. This song is catchy fun, and the video is amazing. I can't wait to see what else she comes out with.

Music Monday__Renaissance Girl by Oh Land

I will have to say this song is really cute. I feel like Oh Land is channeling her inner Audrey Hepburn and it works great for her. Also the fashion in this video is great. Have a Happy Monday Everyone!!

Music Monday__Birthday by Selena Gomez

So this song was released today since its Selena's 21st birthday. ( Happy Birthday Selena!!) this song is very fun and is a good direction for her. I can't wait till its my birthday now...but I think I will be blasting it more than on my birthday.

Music Monday__I'm Out by Ciara ft. Nicki Minaj

So I have been loving this song recently. It very girl empowering. No I have not been through a break up, but it just makes me want to go to the club and just dance, or just dance in my room.

Music Monday__Charli XCX

So this woman has a very electric dirty bubblegum pop sound to her. I found her with the song "You (Ha Ha Ha)," in which she is sampling from another song that I like "You" by Gold Panda.

The Next Song by her that I am loving is "Take my Hand," which was produced by Urban Outfitters. Her whole vibe reminds me of a futuristic 90s era singer. Her songs will keep you happy and wanting some more. 

Music Monday__Drifting In and Out by Porcelain Raft

So this has been a song that I have been listening on and off for the past couple of weeks. I am loving the melodic beat with the continuous electric guitar picking that is happening in the background.

Music Monday___California Dreamin by Kid Ink

So I have been missing California and the sun and the warmth. I am excited to see Cali on Wednesday and spend the whole summer there before I leave for Paris in August. I thought this was definitely putting me in the mood to pack up and ship out.

Music Monday__Wildfire by Sbtrkrt (feat. Little Dragon)

Happy New Years Eve!!! So here is another song, involving my new favorite band Little Dragon. When I found this collaboration with Sbtrkrt, I just thought, AMAZING!!! The song is great, but the video is a little strange. The Video is based off an old Korean superstition that if you leave the fan on when you fall asleep, everything around you will be dehydrated. So enjoy!!

Music Monday_Sail by AWOLNATION

So this is a song that I have heard a billion times and just love the base of the song and its grainy feel it has. I have also included a remix of this song that I particularly like a well. So I am now at home it is great. Last week were my finals and I think I did well on them, but I am happy to be back on the West Coast with my family. Have a Happy Monday!!

Music Monday: Little Dragon__Crystalfilm

Hello everyone, so here is another post for you. I bring you Little Dragon. I know that some of you may already know of them. I personally like their cool jazzy approach that they put to there music. This song is of there new album, Ritual Union. I think this song is so inspirational and I am thinking of using it in a inspiration board for my design class next semester.

So I was on pandora the other day and had heard this remix to a song that I already love. I think that it still stays true to the song, but is different enough that you wouldn't get bored with it. This song is definitely more for people who like the electronic style.

Music Monday____Heartbreaker

Today I bring you hot men in a shower. hahah. Well the song "How to be a Heartbreaker" by Marina and the Diamonds is very fun. It upbeat and I think would be a great collection to anyones playlist. I am a personal fan of Marina's work and I love how she does not always produce the same type of work. She likes to mix it up and has such a beautiful voice. Hope you enjoy

Music Monday___Thrift Shop

Well here comes another song for you guys to jam to. For this week I thought that I would introduce you to this rapper that I have been obsessing over recently. His stage name is Macklemore. He is from seattle and what I love about his music is that he not only does fun party music, but serious or even silly songs. The song that I have chosen for you today is "Thrift Shop." This song I feel like is one of his silly songs talking about shopping at a thrift shop. Which I think ties well into my take on fashion. I love thrift shopping, especially since sometimes I think it is ridiculous to buy a t-shirt for $50 when you can find a similar one for $5 at a thrift shop.

Music Mondays

Since music has such a great influence for me in regards to design and  inspiration, I thought that I would do Music Mondays. I will be posting a song via video or just the track and telling you a little bit about why I like this song for the week.

To start things off  I think I will be posting the song "Everything is Embarrassing" by Sky Ferreira. The music video was just released today, which I think is even better for the start off of my new posting. I love the vibe of this song. It most definitely simple video which just shows Sky singing in various places around Los Angeles with big hair, and wearing a tight black dress. Oh and to mention, the whole video is in black and white. I think that black and white has been understated in the recent years. I think that by doing this we focus more on the music, rather than the chacha that sometimes are in other music videos. I hope you enjoy this as much as I have. Have a great week as well.
